Club Newsletter June 2019.

We had another busy months in the club and loads of successful results and events to acknowledge. This edition will take us from the end of May and our European  Clubs Championship  campaign in Finland, through the 4 Days of Leinster Track & Field events.

European Club Championships
Tampere, Finland - 25th May

The big news story of the year was of the St Abban’s Ladies team return to Tampere for the second year to compete at the highest level of club competition. The ladies, representing Ireland, faced off against the best clubs in Europe in a highly competitive event. The St Abban’s ladies battled for every point with the resilience and determination, which is the hallmark of any athlete who dawns the Abban’s colours, finishing 6th on the day. To see the Abban’s colours on the international stage was a moment of great pride for everyone who has being involved with the club in any capacity. Well done to the ladies team, coaches, volunteers and family members who worked throughout the years to allow St Abban’s to reach these new heights.

These stages are an integral social event for all our members and it is great to see our juveniles, walkers, runners and competitive athletes all chatting over a cup of tea at the end of the night. The refreshments have been amazing in all locations and thank you to all our hosts and volunteers for putting in a great effort year after year.
